Last weekend my niece celebrated her 13th Birthday and her most favourite thing in the world is Spongebob Square Pants. She absolutely adores him! With a Spongebob themed birthday party, there was no question about what cake she wanted. I used a 28cm rectangle tin and baked a milk chocolate mud cake. I filled the cake with a chocolate mousse and strawberry oreo filling (a bit of an experiment which paid off) I cut out some sponge holes and covered the entire cake with milk chocolate ganache. The cake was then covered in coloured fondant to look like Spongebob. The entire cake was edible including his legs and arms. My niece was very happy with her cake as where her friends! Hope you had a great party Alysia xx
I made a caramello mud cake for the occasion. Covered with a Cadbury Milk chocolate ganache, yum!! The most time consuming was the school emblem. I hand made this emblem from fondant, piping the detail with royal icing. The lettering was also made from fondant.
I hope that everyone else enjoyed the night as much as I did

Some of this year’s favourite cakes……
This has been a very busy week with two Christmas Cakes, a birthday cake and multiple mini Christmas cakes made. The mini cakes are all fruit cake with white chocolate pieces, made for my work mates. I will post of pic of these later. A white chocolate mud cake with white chocolate ganache and dark chocolate ganache decorations for the birthday cake and two white chocolate mud cakes decorated as a gift and my personal favourite, Santa stuck in the chimney! I’ve always loved singing that “Santa got stuck in the chimney” song with my boys and love this cake just as much. So it has been busy but also fun! I hope that everyone enjoys their cakes and has a wonderful Christmas!
|It’s Christmas time and the Christmas cards with candy cane gifts started rolling in from all the little ones at pre-school. A great little gift for the little ones. My son decided he would like to give every child in his pre-school class a cupcake for Christmas. He obviously shares his mother’s love of cakes Read the rest of this entry »|
Unfortunately, I will not be attending the Mudgee Anglican Church Markets this morning due to the wet weather. Orders and enquiries can still be made via the contact page on this website. I hope to attend the markets again in two weeks time, hopefully the weather will be on my side.
